PROCESS

Pyramid design & drafting will guide you through the whole building design and architectural drafting process

STAGE 1:  PREPARATION OF DESIGN BRIEF

Clients are initially encouraged to compile and provide a Design Brief (which may consist of a wish list of notes, pictures, sketches, scrap book of ideas and any land information you may have) and then email or post it all to us. It is necessary to begin to open up communication lines to best understand client goals.

Please also download and complete the Pyramid design & drafting Design Brief Checklist (to help guide you) and send us a copy. We will then review your Design Brief (and If need be arrange a no obligation preliminary meeting held in our office). At the preliminary meeting you can also ask about our extensive range of pre-designed homes and can consider basing your design on one of these. At this stage we can show you some of our exciting new designs!

From there we will prepare a detailed Fee Proposal for your approval.

STAGE 2:  SITE VISIT / SITE ASSESSMENT MEETING

A Site Visit / Property Assessment Meeting is arranged where required to consider the proposed building location(s), room layout, solar orientation, site slope, site constraints & services, view range (if applicable), site photograph, neighbour amenity, privacy and any other site responsive considerations.

An assessment is also undertaken to establish the relevant Planning Controls and Design Guidelines that may apply to the property.

STAGE 3:  DETAIL DESIGN CONSULTATION MEETING

A detail Design Consultation Meeting is arranged to discuss in depth the design brief and the specifics of the proposed building(s) design (including the discussion of local Council or other authority requirements).

More comprehensive checklists are completed at this point and good communication channels are established to optimise the design outcome. We are good listeners and aim to establish what our clients main objectives/priorities are and offer constructive advice where needed.

STAGE 4:  CUSTOM DESIGN & SKETCH PLAN

Custom Design work is carried out for the proposed building works including conceptual floor plan(s), front façade and Site Plan and presented in 2D CAD Sketch Plan format.

STAGE 5:  DETAILED CAD DRAWINGS (Computer Aided Drafting)

More detailed and refined colour architectural plans are prepared in CAD (Computer Aided Drafting) Drawing format including both 2D and 3D CAD external views.

3D Colour CAD Computer modeling work is carried out (including the provision of a BIMx 3D Viewer File to allow you to navigate in and around your dwelling using your PC, Tablet or Smart Phone)

STAGE 6:  FINAL DRAWINGS & OTHER DOCUMENTATION

Architectural documentation is finalised and all other documentation (as applicable) are prepared including Building Specifications, Statement of Environmental Effects, Basix/Nathers Certificates, Existing Site Analysis/Demolition Plans, Shadow Diagrams, Landscape Concept Plans, Sediment Control Plan,  etc.

“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart,
as though you were working for the Lord
and not for people.”
